EL DÍA 1

RIOHACHA > CABO DE LA VELA

Departure from Riohacha: 8:00 am - 8:30 am

In a 4x4 vehicle, we'll travel along the coast, passing salt lagoons and cactus forests until we reach Manaure, where we'll learn about the salt production process. Then, we'll cross the desert to reach Jepira, the sacred resting place of the Wayuu souls, known as Cabo de la Vela. We'll enjoy a lunch of typical regional dishes and explore its iconic locations: Rainbow Beach, Sugarloaf Mountain, and Ojo de Agua Beach. At sunset, we'll admire the view from the legendary Cabo de la Vela Lighthouse, followed by dinner and a place to relax.

DAY 2

Cape of the Sail > Gallinas Point

We set off for the northernmost point of the continent, venturing into the magical Guajira Desert. Majestic viewpoints offer breathtaking vistas of the endless bays of Portete and Bahía Hondita, welcoming us to Punta Gallinas, where we enjoy lunch by the sea. We continue towards the imposing Taroa Dunes, where kilometers of golden sand gently slope down to the Caribbean Sea, before visiting the Punta Gallinas Lighthouse (the northernmost point of South America). We end the day at a cozy, locally run hostel, enjoying dinner under a starry sky, surrounded by the vastness of the desert.

THE 3RD

PUNTA GALLINAS > RIOHACHA

After breakfast and a little more time enjoying Punta Gallinas, we resumed our desert journey and arrived at Mayapo, where we discovered a hidden, idyllic beach. We had lunch there, enjoyed the afternoon, and relaxed to the sound of the waves and the sea breeze. Afterward, we headed to our final destination, Riohacha. Thus ended an unforgettable journey through the La Guajira desert with SUMAJ TOURS, exploring the hidden treasures of Colombia's La Guajira.
